Directory of services for non-debt needs
Capitalise advisers have told us that clients with disabilities can come to them with non-debt needs. Without support for these needs it can be difficult for clients to engage in the debt advice process.
In some cases advisers know organisations (local or national) that can help their clients, in other cases they don’t.
For this reason we’ve created a directory of non-debt services. Some of the organisations/services listed are specifically for people with disabilities, others are for both disabled and non-disabled people.
It’s designed to help you signpost clients to the additional support they need, making space for you to help them with their debt problems. It starts with the key organisations that provide support across London (and in some cases across the U.K.). In addition you can click on your borough in the list below to see a selection of local services.
Points to note:
These lists do not include organisations focusing on specific disabilities/health conditions such as multiple sclerosis, cancer, mental health etc. as most clients will already have connections with the organisations relevant to them.
The information is not exhaustive, plus services may change. If you feel any services should be added, or if you find that details have become out-of-date, please email details to firstname.lastname@example.org
A first step before contacting any of these organisations is for you or your client to get in touch with your local council’s adult social care team. As well as providing services themselves, they will be connected with other local services.
If you’d like to see a sample of local services, just click on your borough in the list below. You can then email or print the relevant pages for your clients. As mentioned previously, the lists are not exhaustive, plus services may change. If you feel any services should be added, or if you find that details have become out of date, please email details to email@example.com
